Our occupational therapist will be able to help your child work on fine motor skills so he or she can grasp and release toys and develop good handwriting skills, address hand-eye coordination to improve kids’ play skills (hitting a target, batting a ball, copying from a blackboard, etc.) help kids with severe developmental delays learn basic tasks (such as bathing, getting dressed, brushing their teeth, and feeding themselves), and much more.
ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is the application of behavioral principles to everyday situations which will overtime either increase or decrease targeted behaviors. Skills that are worked on with ABA therapists include: communication, social skills, academics, reading and adaptive living skills (dressing, toileting, and self-care). This approach also works well in decreasing maladaptive behaviors such as aggression and self-injury.
